Susan Stanton
Biographical Information

After graduating from Castro Valley High School, I attended U.C. Berkeley, where I received a B.S. in Chemistry, and Stanford University, where I received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry.  For my Ph.D. research, I used a laser to study the rotation times of small molecules.  I also did a postdoctoral fellowship in the Biophysics Department at U.C. Berkeley, using spectroscopy to study the properties of model biological membranes.

I started teaching at College of San Mateo in 1986, and I have taught at CSM or Chabot College (or both) since then. I enjoy swimming (I am a member of the Oakland Manatees swim team). Other hobbies include cycling, hiking, birding, and jogging.
