Personal information:

Hello and welcome to my Chabot faculty page. For any one interested, here is a little background information.

I come from a multi-cultural background and was born and raised in the Bay Area. I currently reside in Oakland, California, where I have lived for the past thirteen years. I hold a B.A. in Language and Discourse (Magna Cum Laude) and an M.A. in English, both from Cal State University, Hayward. I also hold a Certificate Degree in Online Teaching and Learning, also from CSUH. Like those of you enrolled here at Chabot, I was also a community college student here in the Bay Area for three years before transferring to CSUH.

I have been teaching English classes of various levels, from developmental and basic skills to graduate level, both online and on ground, for over six years now. I have taught English both on campus and online for Chabot College, Diablo Valley College, and Cal State University, Hayward. I also previously worked as the online Writing Coach for the CSUH online Technical and Professional Writing and Masters in Online Learning Programs for three years. In addition, I have five years of experience in web development and web site design.

I now teach exclusively online and enjoy it greatly because of the potential richness of written communication that takes place in the Web- based classroom, the many and diverse online resources available, and for the flexibility the medium offers. I also appreciate the constantly changing nature of the Web and encourage my online students to utilize what it has to offer. I strive to offer online courses of the highest possible quality and encourage open communication.
