Thou Shalt Not
Commit Plagiarism
- Thou shalt never use the
exact words from a source without placing quotation marks (" ") around
them.
- Thou shalt always give
credit to a source when using ideas, information, or words from that
source.
- Thou shalt give credit to
a source even when using thy own words to express the idea or
information.
- When paraphrasing a
source, thou shalt ensure that thy words and sentences are significantly
different from the original source (not simply a few words changed).
- Thou shalt provide a
bibliographic page at the end of thy paper to inform readers about thy
sources.
- Thou shalt never rely upon
another to do thy work for thee.
Punishment for violations of
these commands may be swift and severe.
