The following is a briefing on Blackboard:

• Log on to your account at clpccd.blackboard.com with your account. Your account is your Student Identification Number. For example, if your name is John Smith with a Student ID of W12345678, that is your Login Account.
• Your initial Password is composed of:
  • The FIRST TWO Letters of your First Name (jo)
  • The LAST TWO Letters of your Last Name (sm)
  • The LAST 4 Digits of your Student Identification Number (5678)
  • Thus your password in the example is josm5678

  Note that the password looks close to the login account. You should change your password immediately.

• To get your Student Identification Number, access the ClassWeb and enter your SSN plus Pin Number when you SIGN In to the ClassWeb.
• Select the course you signed up for. You should have been automatically entered on clpccd.blackboard.com when you initially signed up for the course. To change your password, press the Tools button and select "Personal Information".
• Your Windows display should have a series of buttons along the left side. Click on the button of the option you wish to execute (Announcements, Course Information, Staff Information, Course Documents, Assignments, Books, Communication, Discussion Board, External Links. Tools).
• To Log out, select the Logout icon at the top of the web site. Be sure to logout every time you leave.
• On the initial display after you log in to Blackboard, you can send me email or view your grades.
• Since we are dealing with a "3rd party Vendor" (Blackboard), it may be slow at times. The server is in Washington D.C.
• The Communication Button allows you to Send me Email.
• Primarily, Blackboard will be used to access your assignments or my notes, find additional resources on the web, take Quizzes and the Final, send email to me or a fellow students, view your course grades.
• To submit assignments to me, send them as email attachments via your email. Some place in your assignment, be sure to include as a comment, your full NAME and course Number. This ensures that the credit goes to the correct submitting student. The Tools on Blackboard allows you to check your grades.
• To get Help on using Blackboard, select the Tools button and press Manual. A neat frame navigation appears allowing you to see topics as well as search for topics based on an inquiry you typed in from the keyboard.
• To see who else is enrolled in the course, you can view the Roster under the Communications.
