Health 16 - Healthy Weight Loss Course Overview

This class is fully online and requires no on-campus meetings. 

The course focuses on acquiring the knowledge and developing the life skills necessary to achieve a healthy weight for improved wellness. 

We will cover the physical (i.e. nutrition, exercise, disease risk factors), emotional (i.e. managing emotions effectively—controlling impulses, developing self-control), and spiritual (i.e. self-worth, life purpose, core beliefs about one’s abilities) components of healthy weight management. 

Other topics such as life balance strategies (time & stress management techniques), metabolism, relationships, positive thinking & motivational exercises, will also be covered.  Particular emphasis will be on understanding the psychology of behavioral change, so that you will be able to stay on your path to a new, healthy lifestyle.
